Residents of Adair County and surrounding communities are invited to participate.\nThis event aligns with the national initiative, DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, which aims to prevent medication misuse, reduce overdose risk, and protect the environment by providing a safe and convenient way to dispose of medications.\nResidents may drop off:\n\n	Prescription medications\n	Over-the-counter medications\n	Pills and capsules\n\nItems that cannot be accepted include:\n\n\n	Needles or sharps\n	Hydrogen peroxide\n	Infectious waste\n	Thermometers\n	Aerosol cans\n\nIn addition to safe disposal services, attendees will receive a free medication locking bag while supplies last, helping families store medications securely at home.\nThis event is a partnership between the Adair County Health Department, Adair County Sheriff’s Office, and the Adair County Public Library, with additional support from students in Truman State University’s Health Science Department.\nNo appointment is necessary, and the service is free and anonymous.\nFor more information about safe medication disposal, visit the official DEA Take Back Day website.\Location:\nAdair County Public Library\n1001 S.
